Arizona mid range results

German Salazar posted this in a discussion about his 30-06. I think this is the match you are asking about.

It was a good match. Many of the veterans team stayed to shoot it. The wind conditions really favored the 6mm's and those that brought the palma rifle had their work cut out for them.
Trudie Fay was amazing! (I assume she was on a 308)

Trudie had a 6BR barrel on her normal Palma rifle and it worked great. Clark told me he was swapping barrels for her the day before they came down. It was as good and as difficult a match as we had all season, a fitting end to it. Mike, you did some great shooting! Your 890 will get you right out of Expert and into High Master and under those conditions it was well earned!

Ah, I see said the blind man. After years on a 308, a 6BR must be like "singing in the rain". Randy, Rick and Larry and Mid (i'm sure) were all on 6/6.5's. Leaving you and Norma on 30cal. Kinda changes my thinking a bit.

Thanks, but I'm sure there's mastercard in my future first. I may even opt out of the Rio league this summer (just in case) as I've always belived that the HM card should be earned at Avery. The little 6BR carried a lot of my weight at the match.

Trudie is pretty hard regardless of what caliber she's shooting. Tough competition! German, you weren't shooting the 30-06? Actually I wanted to check up on the Vets, I thought that there might be more of them at that match but I guess they were worn out from the matches at Sacramento.

Blair, I was shooting the .30-06 in the Eliseo RT10 stock with the Borden action, Hart 1:11" barrel and X-Treme trigger. I shot 190's at 600 and 500 yards and tried 155's at 300. I was very satisfied with the results.

I pulled German's target and can say 30-06 through out. 300 yard target was just shredded by one fantastic group. I think he was over gunned for 300 yards.

Mike great score and I will miss you in my class.

John

Mike,

Congratulations on the 890-34x! That's a fine score. Do I understand that you shot it with the little ol' 6mmBR?? Looks like you'll definitely be moving up! I made HM @ LR with it when I shot with yall at the Berger SW Nationals back in February. Got my card just the other day...

Looks like a lot of great scores were posted and it was good to see my friend Boyd Goldsby made it out to shoot with you. I wish I could have been there!

Doug

Hey Doug -

I see you Tennessee boys had your Mid-Range. Your 1193 ain't bad neither. I'll buy a beer next time your in town.

Yep, my little ol' 6BR XTC gun.

Mike
