Area 419 Funnel Kits

Shooters,

This is Jon Addis, owner (and sole employee) of Area 419. I wanted to jump in here and hopefully clear up some concerns.

A friend sent me this thread link yesterday, and being 100% honest here, this is the first time I have seen the aformentioned similar product. As Im sure you know, it is not the easiest thing to find even on the Google machine. Heck, searching interchangeable head powder funnel does not even bring it up, at least not that I see. It does look like a very similar "system", but that is 100% coincidence I promise. RCBS also has an interchangeable head plastic funnel. I did research before taking this to market, and as far as I'm aware no one owns any patents on this idea.

My design started when someone sent me a pic of the Xtreme funnels and I thought, "well that's a really good idea...but why does somebody want 6 funnels laying around?" At the end of the day, its a funnel nothing new there, I just wanted to make the best possible powder funnel I could. People who know me know that I love solving problems, and when it involves improving on a current product I try to make it as different as is possible to avoid copycat claims. As with the Hellfire muzzle brake system, yes it is a muzzle brake with 3 ports and Im sure some people will always claim that I copied off others...but I think its obvious I tried every way possible to make it as different as I could. With the funnels, I didn't even know the other existed, but its still vastly different aside from the fact that caliber specific heads thread on.

I also obviously did not make the original post, nor was I aware of it until someone sent me the link. If it should be taken down for violating site policies, feel free to do so, will not hurt my feelings. If I plan to advertise on a site forum, I will surely go about it the right way.

Thanks for your time and let me know if you have any concerns.

Regards,
Jon

There is nothing wrong with posting up info about a new product you found. Although it is probably best to do a little due diligence first and make sure that the product is not a copycat of an existing design owned and manufactured by a well respected forum advertiser such as Whidden Gunworks.

For anyone interested in seeing the original billet aluminum funnel with changeable caliber specific thread on adapters you can visit Whiddens site at www.whiddengunworks.com

Sorry guys. Wasn't trying to sell them - just trying to show what I thought was a good product. I am not Jon and, honestly, I didn't know about the funnel product at Whidden.

Always interested in new or improved products. And you did NOT provide a link....I had to ask for it, which then you provided. Some nice looking products also.
If you choose to you can be a site contributor (I think $20.00) which puts you a big step ahead of the folks using this site as a FREE source of advertising.
Bottom line, welcome to the site, (somewhat rough start) & I wish you every success with your products.

The link is provided on the opening post. You simply click on Area 419.

Jon,
I think it was a misunderstanding..... Somebody thought that the original poster was the manufacturer and took offense to the "advertising" of the product from someone that doesn't monetarily support the forum.

It looks like a nice product and after going to the website, I think you make several nice products, however, I try to support those that support this site first as many other forum members do. It would probably benefit you greatly to become at least a site contributor. If you spend a little time here and look around you'll see the benefit of keeping this site alive and well and your donation will most likely come back to you with interest.
Welcome aboard and good luck to you.
Bob

Can someone point me in the direction of how to become a contributor? Id love to do so, even though I will likely not have much time to spend exploring the sites great resources. Thanks
Look on the right side of the page and click on donate.

Thanks Jon, I'm sure the admin will appreciate it.

There is a "DONATE" button on the right side column. I use paypal to periodically contribute to this site, as it is a nice resource to reference & be a part of. The PP option makes it easy!

BTW, I ordered a set of 419 funnels, with additional .17 and .20 cal inserts, yesterday. Should be a nice improvement over the plastic RCBS funnel with those o-ring equipped 'slide in' caliber specific spouts. Plus, I can sell off my Saterns that just jangle around in the bin...

Didn't know a similar product existed from Whidden, either. And they've made custom wildcat dies for me!

Can hardly help admiring pretty, well machined stuff but I've got Champagne tastes and a beer pocket book .......................... Where's my green funnel? :(

Sorry you feel that way. But you kinda did click on the thread title, with your own free will, and you are seeing exactly what the title was.
Don't try to put this on me. . I can't know what the thread is about without looking can I ?? You sound like Nancy Pelosi. " We won't know what's in it until we pass it". You make your very first post about your product. No intro, or anything.. I call it SPAM. Now stop trying to justify it..

So now you're resorting to calling people names?

If you would read the thread completely maybe you'd see there was a misunderstanding...I'm not the manufacture....in fact, the manufacture just donated funds to this forum and yet you still continue.

Didn't call you a name, just referenced someone .. You are the one continuing.. Still haven't seen any introduction.. You wanna keep going with this??

I'm sorry about that, must be extremely difficult for you that I continue to respond to your antics (in the thread I started) in a manner more respectful than you are showing me.

Sorry? and then you insult me.. You do realize that all your posts are located in this thread. Do you have something of value to contribute? Or more insults?
