Are Suppressors Worth Buying--Your Opinions?

I recently took a long range shooting course in Utah. There were 16 people in the class. Was worried about being assigned a bench next to someone without a suppressor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that 14 out of the 16 classmates all had suppressors. I was still seated next to the dude with the 30-378 Weatherby Magnum with a brake, but that was just bad luck.
