Are gloss scopes a thing of the past?

I cut my teeth on El Paso Weavers and Leupolds of the same era. Today’s matte finishes are certainly more functional in a hunting setting, but sometimes I just want a rifle to look pretty and old school. Are any scope manufacturers still producing gloss scopes?

You might try a google search for something line "gloss rifle scope" and limit the search to the past year.

Yeah they pretty much are but you can find all kinds of vintage gloss black B&L, Weaver, Redfield, S&B Klassik, or Leupold scopes on eBay.

Burris still makes a gloss finish. I just put a set on a sweet Remington 722 I picked up in .257 Roberts.

Mostly yes unfortunately. Want to do a scope upgrade on a BAR but only doing it if I can get gloss to match the bluing. Looks like a S&B klassik is about my only option in the mid/upper tier
