ARA outdoor wind flags hauling arse

Got my wind flags this week, and out for some practice this a.m. ...

Did a decent job reading 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock winds but kind of stunk it up for any head wind of any direction... much work remains to do....

Did you experience all those different wind directions today?

I marked each bull for the wind call I made... right or wrong. :)

Obviously wind moves 22rf.

Im wondering if spin drift is a significant bullet mover in 22rf at 50 yds.

It wasn't a good day for me. Lowest scores I've ever shot.
Oh well, indoor tomorrow. Maybe I'll redeem myself.View attachment 1130023
It seems to me, that the tails on the two sets of flags on the right side are too long, for one, they are getting snagged on the ground, which would not help in giving a truer reading.. also with them being that long, they could be too heavy.. might want to consider maybe removing about 6 inches of from the bottom of those tails.. just a thought

This range is the only one that I've been on that the tails drag. Believe me when I say MOST THE TIME THEY WERE STRAIGHT OUT !
The wind would blow them around so fast the tails would rap the poles, cause them to hang & blow them straight down into the grass.

@SPJ I don't know anything about mirage gauge. Anyone I know used the pic on the right for ideas.
I've not thought about the one on the left, I suppose it was for wind direction .... ?
