Ar15 ejection

So I got an m&p ar for a Christmas bonus (what an employer). I have no experience with a ar platform. So I took my scope of my long range 308 and slapped on it,cause I am excited about shooting it. It's a fairly high dollar scope for me $1500.00. I mounted it and the windage knob is about an inch in front of the rear of the ejection port. if I shoot it tomorrow is there any chance of the spent casing ejecting and possibly hitting my windage knob that is about 11/4 inch above the centerline of the ejection port?

Should not have a problem. It throws the case pretty much strait out to the side. You can cycle a few rounds manually to see the direction they are thrown.

Or a port buffer to not hit the scope and place all casings in a neat pile next to you. But you should not have a problemeeting with the brass hitting your scope.

Put a piece of black electrical tape on the spot or area where you think contact will be.

Cheap, easy, removable, and simple.

You could use one of these:

The short answer is no which, coincidentally, is also the long answer.
There is a deflector, just in front of the forward assist, that will send the spent case out to the side.
You have a great employer. :)
