AR10 bolt catch

Not sure if this belongs here or gun project section.

The bolt catch doesn’t go up high enough. Without the upper it comes up plenty but when together, hits the upper. You might be able to see a slight bright spot above my thumb on the edge of the catch.

That spot hits the upper here where there’s a corresponding bright spot.

The lugs barely touch the stop.
Seems my option is to dremel some metal away on the catch and/or remove some metal from the upper.
Suggestions?

You can always cut a little off the bolt stop to try it. It's the most disposable part. Are you mixing brands of parts? Ar10s are a little maddening because of all the different specs

Hello Sir ,

What you have is an AR-15 part in an AR-10 . If you grind the angle portion back to give a larger gap this will allow the catch to rise higher to catch more of the bolt . Give it a try if you can't find the proper catch , it's worked for me anyway .

Get one of these. Even if you get one that goes up high enough, the AR10 BCG will break those pot-metal LPK bolt catches with the quickness.
