This is why you have a forward assist

It might help figure out what’s going on.
If it was short stroking I would expect feeding issues, then a lighter buffer might help. Probably wouldn’t hurt to match buffer and adapter weight to why you had before. H2 for pistol gas, drop to a standard weight buffer.
If you already are using a standard carbine buffer, 3 Oz, normal carbine gas, might be some other issues, but it worked before, it’s either binding, too much weight.
It may still be short stroking a bit since if you pull the charging handle all the way back, it works. A bit more force on the carrier. Something possibly binding in the folder. The check would be when it misfires, push the forward assist, check the carrier movement through the ejection port.
You can make this happen by riding the charging handle all the way down until it stops, if there is any bind, it will stop out of battery. Note the position, snap it closed with the assist.
A good clean and lube sure won’t hurt.
I looked on their website to find the adapter weight, found this in the product information. Your not the first person to have problems with certain carriers, and the seem to have a work around.
