What will be the heaviest bullet I can shoot with my AR, both mag fed and single fed.
1-8 twist 223 wilde chamber.
Thanks, Jim

Excellent. Exactly what I needed to here.
Should I get the 77's with the groove in them, or does it matter for the mag?
Thank you, Jim

you shouldn't need the cannelure. the cannelure is mainly useful for shooting auto because there is a higher risk of bullet setback when running that fast. by crimping the mouth into the cannelure, it helps lessen the chance of setback.

If you plan to shoot high power across the course matches, you might want to try 69gr. or 77gr. for mag fed. 80gr. for single load. Take a look at Nosler, they are good bullets and cost less than Sierra. BTW, I used Nosler bullets when I went distinguished.

holstil,
give a look at the 75 or 80 Amax bullets too. like the nosler's, they are a little cheaper than berger or sierra. i shot 80 Amax on ramshot TAC and varget with good results in the black gun. Good luck!

Thanks all, It looks as though I have a fair amount of testing to do.
I got this thing to try a new discipline, (and IBS is opening a class for the AR this year). Thought that 3 gun challenge looked fun.
Its good to know that something that shoots well is cheaper than Sierra, they are the price point for what I have been shooting.
