AR-15 Lower recommendations

Hi guys (and ladies),

I'm looking to build a spare AR-15 for shooting XTC. Does anyone recommend a well made AR lower that will handle the heavy use of nra matches? I'm assuming that it should be a forged 7075 aluminum. My current AR is a Stag lower with a WOA upper. With the current shortage of parts it is hard to find popular brands in stock.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You will not go wrong with a Double Star lower.

This was the lower I used for my M4 build 12 years ago. Bought from Brownell's.

I prefer Aero lowers, because they have a set screw in the handle that lets you keep tension on the upper so the two halves dont rattle around.

+1 for Aero Precision. The set screw that removes the play between the upper and the lower really works. There are spring plunger screws that can be used if you do not like having to back the set screw off to remove the rear takedown pin.

I've used stag, palmetto, bushmaster, and colt lowers on service rifles. They all worked just fine. A fellow shooter said he had an Anderson and the magwell was tight. Spikes, cmmg, aero all work too.9

Built my 6 ARC on a LaRue lower. Not cheap, but very nice and very tite. Not sure what the wait time looks like right now, but back in Oct, it shipped in 2 weeks.

Around a decade ago, when Firearms News was still Shotgun News, someone compared all the critical dimension measurements of a dozen or so lowers. The "Poverty Pony" (Anderson) was very near the top.
Between myself and friends, we've assembled over 100 of the Andersons, and no one has reported a problem.
A couple of tight magazine fits were discovered to be caused by slightly oversized magazines.
A local dealer got some PP's in just last month, and still sold them for just under $50. He is not a gouger.
That said, I do really like the tension screw and 4-40 threaded takedown spring hole on the Aeros,
Some others have these too, but a few minutes, one hole, and a pair of taps can add them to any lower.
The tightest fit pair I ever used was from Les Baer, but they dropped everything AR a few years back.
If you have the money to spend, or just want the look, go for whatever makes you happy.
But, a high quality barrel will provide far more difference in the end result.
No fan of Andersons logo, either. (One horsey image brings criticism; the other one brings higher prices).
