Ar 15 buttstock options

I have a couple ar 15 uppers in 6.5 grendel that are used for deer hunting by both my daughter and I. The telescoping stocks have been a godsend for her as a very very short kid. The basic midway/ar stoner tactical stocks that we are using now are pretty loose and noisy, and are a bear to try to rest and shoot well off of bags for load development. Does anyone have a suggestion that would work a little better off of bags that still telescopes? A little tighter fit would be a bonus too for less rattles. Has anyone used the magpull stocks?

I like the magpul moe sl stock, but for true bag riding they have better options.

Then, if still a bit “loose”, you can place a strip of 2” clear packing tape on the top spine of your buffer tube. Aids in snugging up fit, and smooths sliding stock into multiple lengths of pull.

first generation Magpul UBR or first generation PRS stock are all I can suggest, all that I have on my rifles. Not the cheapest but I bought them both used at a substantial discount and both I think are well made. Jim

I use aluminum HVAC tape. You can get it at any hardware store. It is thick enough to tighten up a collapsible stock but still allow it to work.

I don't recall the model but there's a Magpul that has a mechanism which takes up the looseness in the adjustable stock.
