AR-15 accuracy load for Nosler 69 grain match

I'm working up loads for my .223 AR. I have a starting point for the Sierra 77 grain MKBT. I'm looking for a starting point for the Nosler 69 gr match bullets. Any suggestions on accurate powders and primers to consider?

I've had good luck with varget (if you can get it) with rem 71/2 primers

What powders you got to work with?

TAC work up to around 24.5gr Rem 7 1/2
2230 or XTerminator, 23.5 gr with same primer. (Nosler accuracy load)

Varget and CCi 450s. Anything from mild to wild - usually there's a node around 2750, and another one higher up, like 2900.

Low node should be around 24gr in LC brass seated to mag length. High node will be 25.x, and might be over-pressure in your gun. Use caution.

Start at 24 gr of h322 and work up with a 450 primer in lake city brass.

Mine likes 25gr Varget over a CCI 400 primer. 2850 fps from 20" 7 twist and 2800 ish from a 20" 9 twist. OAL is 2.255" to run from P-mags.

Give 8208 XBR a try. I get outstanding accuracy with that powder and the 68 gr. Hornadys - should do fine with the Noslers if your barrel likes them.

My powder for 69 grain Nosler & 69 grain SIE MKs is 24 grn. W747 with Wolf .223 primers. Very accurate load in my 1 in 8" twist ARs.

25.3 to 25.5 grains Varget, 205m, any quality brass seated at 2.260 c.o.l.. This load shoots into 1 hole, always within .5", with my Les Baer Thunder Ranch 16" rifle.

I agree abt the premium offerings. Too expensive for what you get. Notuch worry abt the l last 15 or so years of Kimbers as the quality ain't what it was originally.
NO to the Phillipino RIA. Seen too many early ones that were sub std.
Get a Springfield Armory. They are head and shoulders above the production guns off the RR. Best bang for the buck. One showed up at the club, no massaging, that held solid X ring/50 yds.

I'm having good luck with 22.5 AR Comp. LC brass . 16" 7 twst. That's with the 69 TMK's.

I've had best results with F205M primers and I've found success with many powders; 8208; cfe223; h335; and BLC(2). I've found stick powders more consistent if you're not going max velocity; or serious volume loading. Varget 25.0gr; n140, re-15; ar-comp h4895.

To be fair; all of my accurate loads shoot great at 100y; and I am the weakest link beyond that. Work with ball powders if you want to volume reload and you'll find a window of accuracy to support a faster dispensing method. Varget quickly got me measuring kernels, but had great performance through the rest of that lot. Then tweak for another lot. N140 is my current choice.

IME: all the powders will have an accurate load; but is it at the velocity you want is the question. Likewise I have good loads using Rem 7-1/2; cci450; BR2; and f205M; but I did have to tweak all loads for different primers.

I fully suggest you pick your primer first since it is the easiest to get a quantity of. I ran around in circles finding that I really needed to make bigger changes than I thought having swapped primers.

Don't know your purpose for shooting or your barrel length, but after testing a variety of AR barrel lengths, using Lake City Brass, CCI and VVN140 (starting right around 23.6 gr) and VVN530 has worked nicely and consistently with barrels starting at 12" through 20" and 69 gr Sierra's. Nosler 55's shoot really nice groups at 100 yds, but going out to 600 requires the 69 -77grs with the longer 18"-20"barrels. The shorter barrels didn't impress beyond 50-100yd unless you like the shotgun pattern approach. Hope that gives you some ideas.
