I had a guy put a Jard trigger in my 260 DPMS. It is almost as good as my Jewells. Super light and crisp! I love it!! The only problem is every now and them it will double. I called the guy that put it in and he said it is the disconnecter and it needs a 1/4 turn more engagement. I haven't been brave enough to screw with it yet but very soon. My wife's AR15 must need more than 1/4 turn as one trigger pull some times gets 5 or 6 shots.
I've been round and round trying to find a trigger I liked on the AR platform. Of the single stages, the Jard had by far the best feeing pull, but I too had doubles with it. I reinstalled it numerous times, tried different springs, adjusted the disconnector all over the place, called the mfr and followed all of their advice. Nothing would make the double-fires go completely away except for adjusting the pull weight up (heavier spring) to where I didn't like it or adjusting the disconnector to where the reset was slow and unreliable. I lived with it for quite a while, but doubles when using it in comps were non-negotiable so it had to go.
The Hiperfire 24 3G had a light enough pull but more creep than I like. It's an innovative design to get the light pull weight without light hammer strikes, but maybe too much of a good thing. The hammer strike was so hard that it disrupted my sight picture on firing. It actually seemed to be moving the entire rifle. Whatever it was, my accuracy seemed to suffer slightly with this trigger.
Heard good things about the JP trigger, but the install instructions looked a bit more involved than I wanted to deal with. Decided on the option to send in my lower and have them install it. Told them I wanted the trigger pull as light as possible without double-fires. When I got it back the trigger was very crisp, but the pull weight was too heavy for my liking (about 3.5#).
Finally tried a Geissele 2-stage (Hi-Speed National Match - Match Rifle). I was really trying to avoid going the two stage route. I installed and adjusted it to my liking, and ohhhhh my... The second stage break wall was firm and reliable, hard to pull through as I worried would be an issue, but soooo light and crisp. When I finally put a trigger gauge to it, the first stage was 1.5 lbs and the second stage broke at 8 oz.
Still would like to find the perfect single stage AR trigger, if it exists. If the Trigger Tech is anything like their Remington 700 version it should be worth a try.
