Approx Price Per Round for ELR Cartridges?

My son's, 8.7 Pound, L-R "Elk Rifle", is nicely "Tamed" by, the Newly designed, 4 Port, PVA "Jet Blast", Brake.
Personally I'd Like, a Big .338 Round with, a 28 to 32 inch Barrel ( .850 - .900 Dia. Barrel min. ) and a 5 Port Brake, weighing, 12.5 lbs / 13lbs min. to 16.5 pounds, Max,.. that should be, fairly easy to "Control" and Accurate with, 300 gr Bullets.
If, too Heavy, you will probably, Get TIRED of,.. "Lugging" it, around !
There is no lugging anything. I don't carry my heavy guns more than about 20 feet. My 6 creed is about 20lbs, 28", with a jet blast. I filled the voids in the chassis with lead shot and epoxy. I plan to make this gun 30+ pounds hopefully.

Buddy had a 338/378 weatherby for elk.
He quickly sold it!
Lol
Now he has a 300 Norma and it’s pretty nice.

I have a lot of experience with 338 Norma in a 14# rifle, that’s pretty reasonable recoil.
Especially with retumbo.

Honestly 50bmg is one of the cheaper 'big' guns to shoot. There's still cheap WC872 among many other surplus 20mm/etc powders out there. They have been sold as cheap as $48 per 8lb jug IME. 750amax is impressive with a 1.050 BC, but you can find 650 ball for practice/fun for under 50 cents per bullet. 50bmg brass isn't expensive like other big rounds, and its plentiful. You can size/seat 50bmg on a standard Lee Classic press, and Lee dies can produce straight ammo. Primers do cost more, but there are frequent sales on those as well. And no gun puts a smile on your face like a 50.
