Applied Ballistics Program

Bryan, I am a happy user of the Applied Ballistics Program which came with one of your books. I have taken pains to accurately measure the height of my scope centerline above my bore centerline. I have a new Ruger RPR. I purposely removed the 20 MOA rail and installed a 0 MOA rail. I did this for clearance for the scope objective. I then used Burris XTR Signature rings only to find out that they do not provide or sell inserts to make the mounting 0 MOA. They give you one set of 0 MOA inserts for one ring, but not a second pair for the other ring. My installation is now 5 MOA. My question is (finally!) how does your program handle a scope installation with a 5, 10, 20 or what ever MOA you choose, as opposed to no scope cant?

I worry my first post was too long. I'll try again. Bryan, how does your program handle a scope installation with a 5, 10, 20 or what ever MOA you choose, as opposed to no scope cant?

The rail incline has minimal impact on the ballistic calculation. For a 6" 20 MOA rail length the height difference between one end of the rail and the other is - 0.0349".

I struggle to measure my scope height to the nearest 0.1 inch.

Keep in mind what the inclined rail does - it only points your scope lower, it doesn't alter the adjustment range the scope has.

If you measure from the center of the windage turrets, it will have no effect. Since this is the pivot point of the adjustments. If you measure from the bell of the scope, the error will be about 1 click.
