Apparently I need a new primer tool

Not exactly a spring chicken but, developed trigger finger (my case was my thumb) and its not fun.
Add that into trying to squeeze anything it was uncomfortable.
My solution was to get a cortizone injection into my thumb (it was actually trigger thumb). Knock on wood but, it hasn't happened since my last injection (I had two about 4 months apart).
Might see what you Dr. has to say. Just a thought.
Anyhow heres to a speedy solution free of pain. :)

I decided today ( this morning ) to go to a benchtop mounted priming tool. Hands were hurting pretty good after seating 75 Tula primers in once fired brass.

Know how you feel with that arthritis. I went to a two thumb squeeze maybe 5 years ago, but opted for the KI & M tool with the dial on it because I found that two hands on my Sinclair gave me inconsistent results. Fortunately, I'm still OK with the Sinclair with SR primers, which is great, because I don't have to pull it apart to change the ram anymore.

However, I reckon the K & M is too slow for every day loading, though it's great for target stuff, so I recently bought a Lee bench unit on the advice of a friend. So far, I haven't used it enough to form a judgment, but it does give me feel again.

You should take a look at the "Holland's Perfect Primer Seater" I got one and I really like it. A little tough on the, "feel" department but I set it up using the supplied gauge and finally got all my primers seating pretty much the same depth. However, I have squared all my primer pockets. Best of all...It is so "old hands/fingers friendly!! Not very cheap but, it should last a very long time the way it's built.

Please don't discount a ram primer. Once set to proper depth (trial and error) it takes feel out of the equation. It is more time consuming, but you will get the exact same seating depth each time. I use the RCBS ram primer, but other manufacturers make one.

One other option not mentioned is a Lee Hand Press with a priming ram installed. Takes a little practice but you can definitely feel the primers seat and it is mobile with no hand squeezing required – more shoulders and chest.

Update: I ordered the Bald Eagle unit. Finally got it set up this weekend, it's been one of those winters, and I love it! Way easier on my hands. :)

After Carpal Tunnel surgery in both hands and now arthritis to boot, I finally decided to put the old faithful Lee Auto-primes away and purchased the RCBS Bench Primer with the Hollands adapter...wow!...what a difference!...I also use a Frankford Arsenal hand primer with the adjustable settings from time to time...it's similar to the LEE but more stout and you can use it thumb method or grip method...it doesn't bother me as much as the Lee did due to the ergonomics.....but I'm really liking the Holland adapter!

I have now. The feel seems to be there, but the folding primer tray is about as useful as tits on a bull. I can't believe anybody with Lee's runs on the board could design that.
