aperture sights?

I am looking for some info on whats out there for aperture sights to fit on a AR rail. Im looking for something that has 1/8 or 1/4 inch adjustments. Is there such a thing out there?

Thanks

That’s a lefty, and it’s all Creedmoor has left. Unfortunately Phoenix has also dropped out of the sight game. For either Warner or Phoenix, the used market is best option at the moment. They are out there, you just have to look.

Champion’s Choice currently sells the Centra rear sights, and they have a model set up to be mounted on a rail. I haven’t tried one, but have heard they are a good sight. Not a bad price, either:

I know several people that use the centra and like it. No problems with it. It has a little flex to it, but tracks perfectly according to them

+1 for Centra. Worth the little extra IMO. I have two of those, three RPAs (which I prefer as they have larger markings). Check Ebay as they do come up at various times. Have seen many listed on this forum as well.

the PNW side mount sight with the flattop AR/pic rail mount ,,the mount has 3 height adjustments to get the sight mounted to the height you need to match your front sight,,,no more than I use it I have a couple Redfield Palma sights I could get by with

Centra makes good stuff: the Centra Spy has been one of the more popular sights on the international smallbore World Cup circuit for a while now, and I used a Centra LR when I started. I sold it and bought a Phoenix only because it had Service direction knobs and I wanted match.

The downside of the PNW is that the sight body rides on plastic bushings, while the Phoenix, Warner, and Centra all use bronze. Both work, but the bronze is going to last longer. On the other hand, the PNW sights are less expensive and commercially available (or used from @mr.big )

One note about the Centra 10-50 they have at Champion's Choice is that it's much, MUCH, finer than the 1/4 MOA clicks claimed. My recollection is that it's calibrated for about 1/12 MOA, depending on sight radius, as the 10-50 was intended for international air and smallbore where you want that degree of control. Centra's website agrees with my memory on this.

Look at the Classifieds. There are three excellent rear sights for sale at the moment from Steve McGee - an excellent shooter for many years.

I bought 2 of the side mount (Redfield base) Phoenix's, and when I asked about another he replied he was 'thinking' about the future of his sights as most people were moving away from iron for scoped. But he hinted that maybe...Might send him an email and tell him you want on any 'maybe list'. They are great for sure.

I use and recommend a Phoenix; I understand that they are rather limited right now. One of my team mates uses the Centra - and it is also great. If you can't find one with the AR Picatinny base, you can always buy a Lipski base from Creedmoor Sports - they have an adjustable side mounting plate so that you can get the proper sight height for your application.

I would go so far as to say that the Redfield + Lipski method is preferred, since it gives you the most flexible mounting options should you need them in the future.

But once,cry once-

Warner Tool Co. & Gehmann apertures/iris'.

Sorry, but I won't part w/ the 7 WTC rear sights in my possession.

I have used Centra for years, the Centra is build a little better, with brass guides, I think PNW has plastic ones.
I did try the Centra that mounts on the rail, didn't like it at all, it would loosen on me during a match. Sold it and bought another side mount, used a lipski mount, solid and repeatable.
