Anzio rifle-50 BMG

We did some testing with one of their 20mm rifles at Yuma, and I personally was not favorably impressed. The receiver and bolt were decent quality, but they used a milsurp barrel on this rifle, and it was not impressive. Their furnished 20mm reloads were also total crap - many of them would not even chamber. We ended up ending the test early because of this. Now, their .50 rifles may be a totally different story, but I personally would look elsewhere based on a sample size of one.

Would like opinion of rifle in terms of quality and/or accuracy. Thanks

None of their rifles have done anything at any FCSA Matches and they are not considered match grade by the 50 shooters.

I surely don,t see one in my future.

Thank you for kind reply-one other rifle I was considering, at this time, was the Bushmaster BA-50. Is this rifle worth considering before I look into others-perhaps a Ferret or a Serbu BA 50. Once again thank you for opinion.

Without stating your intended use, and frequency of use, its hard to comment. If it is to just to add a .50 to your collection and you are trying to avoid a recognized slug, that is one thing. If it is to compete in Fifty Caliber Shooters Association (FCSA) matches, totally different.

With all due respect, excluding Anzio because of a sample of one, and a 20mm model at that, way too little data. That said, there are not likely to show up on a short list from anyone that has been shooting 50s for a while, most will probably not even know of them. Good people but not a "name brand".

Ferret has had a lot of complaints about delivery, quality, refunds not happening, etc. and had been looking for a cash infusion to catch up - for now that would be, IMO, a very risky path to take.

If you have nice deep pockets, you might consider these excellent, "factory" rifles - Accuracy Internationals AX50, Barnard-Dolphin GP, Barrett 95 or 99, Cadex CDX-50 Tremor, Desert Tech HTI, McMillan TAC50-A1, PGW Defense LRT-3, or Steyr HS-50 M1.

Beyond the high end factory rifles, you are looking at a custom.

Based on your two posts (9 total as of this date), I'd strongly suggest one of the high end factory models, the AI and Steyr models in particular.

Good shooting!

Have been competitively shooting for 60 yrs (pistol,Olympic and rifle) and have been involved with many forums and I must say your response was excellent. Thanks loads.
