I have a Stevens 414 action. This is a later model with the plunger firing pin. I think it is based on the 44 action. It is known as the armory model. Family heirloom that has seen better days. It has a droopy lever, light hammer fall and a chipped extractor. Wiseners has the appropriate extractor. I took it apart and I was ok till it came to removing the buttstock which kept me from seeing how the parts hidden inside it interacted. Of course they fell out before I got a good look and well, I shouldn't have tried this at home. I think it needs a replacement coil spring and maybe one of the leaf springs, plus that extractor. I am looking for someone who would be willing to reassemble it with these new parts. Wisener and CPA are not interested. My smith doesn't work on them. Thoughts? Shoot me a PM and/or respond here for all to learn.
