anyone using the edgewood "super slick" bags??

Is anyone using the edgewood super slick front and or rear bags?? What do you think of them?

I have a edgewood minigator with corderor ears but I need a new bag with wider stitching to suit my new stock so I was thinking of trying the new material. I shoot f class so carying bag lube isnt always practical so I have been considering other options.

How do you go with them on your front bag?? I have a seb neo and they dont make any bags for that but they can custom make me a super slick bag for the neo but its a fair bit of stuffing around and money so I want to know if it worth the effort!?

Call Protector. THey can fix you up. I bought a front bag from them recently and a 4 by 4 inch piece of the material to just sit in the V of my rear bag. You won't believe how smoothly your gun recoils. The only downside I foresee is that the material doesn't appear to be as durable as cordura. The substance that is so slick is somehow adhered to a backing. Over time I think it will begin to flake off in spots, but as slick as it is, you could probably lose half of it through chipping or flaking off and still have more slickness than cordura.

My Edgewood/Farley front bag has the 3M material. It allows me to use much tighter front tension with the same drag that Cordura and HBN previously allowed. Most F-Open gun handling problems are rear bag related, however.

I do not think durability will be a issue. This 3M material is the same reflective material that is used on safety clothing and safety vest. It has been used for years in the construction, airline industry, law enforcement, military and other occupations where a safety reflective material needs to be used especially on clothing and has proved to be very durable. It has been adapted to our shooting sport by a couple of the bag manufactures and so far appears to be a great product. It is so slick that there is less friction so less wear than Cordura.

I have a Edgewood Front Rest Bag and a Protektor Rear Bag both made with this 3M material and really like them. It is so slick that my biggest worry is bumping the rifle and it sliding off the bags, lol.

I ordered the Edgewood rear bag with the 3M material and it's great! The only issue I had was sand leaking out of the seam stitching, not much but enough to make the ears loose. I took some liquid skin and coated the seams and haven't lost any sand since. Really slick material and worth the extra up charge when ordering a new bag. you'll never have to powder your bag again. Snakepit is correct, you do have to be careful it's that slippery.

The new material hasn't exactly knocked my socks off. I may be going back to my Cordura bags shortly.

Outdoorsman, how about some details concerning what you do not like about the new 3M material bags and what you like about the Cordura bags compared to the 3M material bags.

Can someone tell me where you can purchase the material. Got a heck of a leather smith in this little town. Thanks Bill
I think it is from the 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material line. You might try to Google it.

Many of us competitors use Jim Peightal's microfiber "ultra fabric" bags. They are the best. I have tried all the others. I have at many of them. Some are very odd dimension orders, no problem. Jim is a great guy and a good shooter. He knows what you want, you get it quickly and for a very fair price. And his bags hold up better.

Jim also sells very good stock tape at any length. I buy it by the rolls.
