Anyone using Rl26 (or other new-ish powder)in the big 6's

I got just short of 3600 fps with my 28" barreled 6x47L with 43.5 grains of R17 using 95 grain SMK!

Bolt wasn't sticky yet and primers weren't flat either. I did throw those few cases away because they were starting to get loose primer pockets and this was all experimental anyway.

Used to get 3850 fps in a 30" 6-284 with 75gr vmax.

Ive been using RL16 in my 6 Creed and it is shooting great, but Quickload says that RL26 will give me another 100fps, with the same velocity, and same pressure, with 98.4% case fill. Are you guys getting good accuracy with RL26 in the 6 Creed?

I have always wanted a big ole 6mm something, you know 6-06AI 6-270,243 Catbird ect.
My problem currently is that with a longish tube and a reg ole 243 I am getting lives next door numbers to the big guys. Have any of these new powders made the big boys any badder?
If you have chronoed numbers please share what you got with what you shot. (dont need actual loads just powder and primer used)
Thanks

My straight 243 can be a rocket with R-26. Have pushed 108 ELD's right at 3300, and could have gone higher, but backed it down to 3100 because that's where that bullet was most accurate. Those loads were in Lapua brass with CCI primers.
Using R-26 (lighter charge than the above load) in Winchester cases with 107 Noslers is giving good numbers, 3050 with a SD of 3, and sub half minute 5 shot groups, but this batch of brass seems to have issues with primer pockets or something, that is causing the primers to have a 'smoke ring' after only 1 firing.

Are the PPs super tight?
I had the same problem on a couple of pieces of Alpha SRP brass. I uniformed the PPs and seating effort is appropriate and much more uniform.
I think there was so much stress that the primer cup was deforming slightly, causing gas leakage.

Not a 6 but I have had very good luck with it in a 260ai with 140 hybrids and a 30" barrel. My initial tests had it shooting pretty well, I borrowed a friends chronograph since it was a new to me case, and it was right at 3,100 fps. I backed it off to the mid 2900s and have been shooting it at silhouette matches and done very well and consistent with it. I've got a little over 900 rounds on the barrel now and at least 600 of them have been fired in matches with rl26. It *looks* dirty but cleaned up very easy. Black stuff around the muzzle brake will wipe off with a wrag and no solvent.

In the barrel, I've found it cleans just as easy with a single relay worth of fowling, or a whole match worth (4 relays or ~64 rounds). Even now with over 900 rounds.

I've had very good luck with it. Even with small rifle primers.
Please post how many rounds you end up getting on this barrel with RL-26, when the barrel is toast.
Great post man!

I have a new 28" 6mm Competition Match I may try some in. I also have a 30" I could give it a try. I believe my LGS has some. Next time in there I think I will pick up a pound and try it.

Good luck, I hope you do pick some up. If they have it in stock they will be the only source in North america.

Thank you! They had one pounders when I was in there last month. They actually have a lot of stock, it moves slow in this place, they're located in a very little town about 25 miles from me.
