How fast ?
Never checked for speed. I was more intrested on precision. I actually started at 40.0gr of h4831sc with 5 round groups. I started with up in .1 increments. And at 40.5 it really stabalized the Bergers 105. Barely touching the lands. My 5 round group with that load produced a pea size hole,. And I'm printing 2"-3" groups at 600 yards which is the max distance at the local range.

Have only used H4831sc in my 25/06 with excellent results but IMR 4350 worked great in my .243. Bullets 85-105 gr.

I was just curious if you clocked them. I got a new 26" Mullerworks 7:75 , throated for the 105Bergers I have yet to fire.. I just got some more H4831sc today, but I have a FCSA match in a few weeks, I need to load and get ready for that, so it will have to wait. .. I was excited to see how this powder performs, as I also have a 30-06 with a 9 twist Douglas, and a couple boxes of the "new colored tip" Hornady's ELD-M in 212 and 220gr to try them on.

One of my oldest hunting rifles is a tang safety Ruger model 77 that I purchased new. 45gr H4831 and 85 gr Speer bullet was my go-to deer load for many years. If I did my part on the bench, all of the shots were touching at 100. Smacked west coast deer very nicely.

Yes... with heavier bullets, suggest using the "short cut" grain version for improved charge metering.

I've loaded a bunch with Berger 105's, in not pushing them too hard but accuracy is pretty solid if I can keep the nut behind the trigger tight. My previous barrel was a 27" and I ran Retumbo with 107SMK's with wonderful results but it was throated long, tried in the new rifle and can't get enough powder in the case to do much. The load with 4831sc is a touch over 3K but like I said I'm not pushing it and it does fine out to 1300 just have to watch real well for impacts on the plates. Later,

Kirk
