Anyone using Athlon scopes?

Been eyeing up new optics for my .223 AR and my Savage 10FLP 308. Thinking about the Argos for my AR and the Ares for my .308. Just wondering if any of you guys have experience with either of these scopes.

The Argos is a sub-$400 scope with first focal plane, turrets that match the reticle (available in mil or moa), illuminated reticle, and the gen2 has a zero stop.

The Ares is around $900 and has all of the above but better glass and better turrets.

I've got a Midas BTR,Ares BTR,and a Cronus.

The Midas & Ares Gen 1 BTR's- I'd rate about in the same class optically as the Sightron SIII scopes, but with much better reticles. They track pretty good, but don't track as well as a Sightron SIII,and until you remove the O-ring under the turret's,the turret feel isn't as good as a Sightron SIII.

The Cronus is an excellent scope, and will run right with a lot of well known scopes that cost $1k + more. It doesn't give up much at all comparing it side to side against my $2500 - $3000 scopes. It's well worth buying.

I have a Athlon Cronus BTR Excellent glass Turrets adjustments are sound... But I'll say a Trijicon accupower 4.5-30x56mm is a step above ,plus they include more goodies in the box . Athlon you just get the scope,in fact I had to down load the product manual .

Have the Ares ETR, great glass and very positive clicks/adjustments. Used it one season so far and it has always stayed true and returned to zero.

Have the Argos btr 6-24 gen 1, great for the price, glass not that clear past 20x. Turrets dont line up with the hash marks but I modded the hash marks to line up. Zero stop can be done with a washer shim.

I've read that about the washer shim. I'm actually looking at the gen 2 in the Argos line that has a positive zero stop.

From what I can tell, the Argos is pretty much a lower end Ares.

I've also heard good about the Midas Tac, but it lacks an illuminated reticle. I'm on the fence as to whether I want that or not.

I looked at the Cronus. Man that price is hard to justify for as little as I currently shoot. Maybe once I get back into the swing of things I can look higher up the ladder.

I've also considered the Nikon Black 1000 line, but there seems to be some negative reviews, and with Nikon getting out of the scope game, it leaves me wondering about Warranty issues if ever needed.
