anyone use a huskemaw 5-20 bluediamond

I recently purchased a huskemaw 5-20 for a custom built smokless muzzleloader I'm getting built. I was wonder if anyone out there uses the huskemaw scopes any info would be great. That muzzleloader its going on has a 30" krieger and with 74 grs of 4198 it should be pushing a 300 gr parker close to 3000 fps (gotta have a muzzlebrake). Hopefully these scopes will hold up to the recoil.

I sell the Huskemaws and the G7 scopes. I have 4 Huskemaws on different hunting rifles, they work great. Remember the turrets are made specifically for your load/rifle and are only as good as the information provided. Pay attention to temp and atmospheric pressure when collecting data as well as the conditions you foresee using the scope in.

I mount my customers and also my scopes on pictinney rails so the scope can be used on multiple rifles. Real world hunting accuracy improves if you use the same scope/reticle for different purposes. Looking at the same reticle for varmints as big game makes using the system easier. Practice, practice, practice. Feel free to PM with specific questions.

I have one of the first models they produced bought it from Jon Porter at the cowboy classic shoot in 2007. After we got done shooting the one mounted on his rifle I had to have one! We were shooting at 1000 yds and the optics are clear and crisp each click is 1/3 moa and theres a stop collar that you can set so if you get lost in a come up you can revert right back to your zero! Mine sits on a custom built Winchester model 70 in 7mm mag. If I had the money I would own a couple more.

I do not like the 1/3 min adjustments on the Huskemaw, but probably could adapt to it. I looked thru one at our range, and it was very clear. Over on LRH, someone reported the Huskemaw and Nightforce glass was made in the same plant in Japan, think it was called "Force Optics".

When I talked to Jon Porter, he told me that they did approach the Co. that made the Night force scope, tubes & Glass and thats who was building the Huskemaw. It is a bit different getting used to the 1/3 moa clicks but I didn't find a problem with it. I will probably be using it this weekend on my 30X47 to shoot a 600 yard match, if i get a break in the weather to go to the range and sight it in.

Light Optical used to make the Nightforce scopes, don't know if they still do or someone else. It is my understanding that some or one of their top engineers are who started Deon Optical (March scopes).

My experience with the Huskema scope is limited but it was not as clear or sharp as a nightforce NXS.
