Anyone try the 110 SMK's yet?

Shot some last week in my RPR which is a 7.7 twist. Shot pretty well, but their length forces me to be at least .025" from touch and yet still barely fit my AICS mags, they are definitely long.

I just got a couple of boxes to try. They are definitely llllllong and factory pointed. The overall length of my lot of 110 SMK's is 1.352. In comparison, the Berger 105 Hybrids is 1.253 overall! I am no ballistician, but these bullets are even more "needle nose" in appearance than the sleek Berger Hybrids. I am not doubting Sierra when they state their BC is .617! They can't be far off judging by the looks of this bullet. Now, if they will shoot as accurately as the Hybrid, we are on to something!! That is the question now. I have some loaded to shoot in a 8 twist. Weather is not favorable here for a few days though. Samuel Hall

Anyone have a rough base to ogive measurement for the 110's that they would care to share?

Since there is no standard for where a bullet comparator touches the ogive, this sort of measurement is not particularly useful; i.e. your equipment ain't exactly the same as my equipment.

However, if someone were to give their measurements for a well known bullet, let's say a Berger 105gr Hybrid and/or a Berger 105 VLD along with their measurement of the new SMK 110gr, then we who are using Bergers now could get some idea of how different the Sierra bullet is. Make sense?

Hey pikes, did you change your powder load for the Sierra 110's?

I did. Using Hybrid 100v, I dropped below my normal Berger 105 Hybrid load and started back up. I made it to 40.5 grains w/o any pressure signs, found. Next outing I'll keep going up in .5 grain increments till I find another node that I like, or pressure signs stop me.

??? what caliber are you shooting/loading w/the 110's

Guys, it's cold here (25*). I wanted to see if these would stabilize or not.

243, 22" bartlien 5r, 1/8.

I used IMR 4451 because I wanted to try it too...

Hodgdon's starting load for this powder and 107's is 37.5 grains and went 2686fps, 38.5 was 2755fps, 39 was 2791fps. They all 3 made round holes in paper 225 yards away so they'll stabilize in mine anyway.

That's all I know right now.

Would anybody be willing to trade me say 12-15 for something else. I have berger 105 vlds, hybrids, and 108s. I hate to buy a box and find out they wont stabilize in my 8tw.
