Looking for a little feed back on ACCURATE LRT. I see its a magnum powder that is priced right at various online retailers.
Wasn't able to find it listed on my burn rate charts.
I'm wondering how it might work in a 6.5-284 norma with 140-142gr bullets?

Brett I bought it as a replacement for h1000 in my 300 ultra mag. For the same reason you're looking at it availability and price. It shoots as good in my ultra mag as the h1000 did. It will put five 210 bergers into 5" or slightly less at 1000 yds off of a bipod and rear bag. Haven't tried it in anything else so far. Ramshot load data is a pdf that can be downloaded. Has a lot of info in it.

I'm developing a load with 300 grain bergers and LRT in a 338 edge. It is pretty slow, but I get good velocity (2825 fps) with no pressure signs in ADG brass.

GRT backanalysis puts it around 24N41 burn characteristics in GRT, so it is pretty slow... definitely slower than the N565 I tried.

I doubt it would be better than Magpro or Magnum for the 284 case.

Not sure if you have seen this Brett, but I pulled it from the Long Range Hunting website. Hope it is of some use….
Thanks, that's some great information. Looks like good velocities on part with RL22 im currently using but can't find.

I have thier PDF download, its your real world information that I seek.
Sounds like I may need to pick up a case while I can.

I've tried it in 26 Nosler with 147gr, I really don't think it's a good powder for 6.5-284.

I would really suggest Ramshot Magnum instead.

Brett,
I have had no experience with lrt It looks like they designed it for the .338 Lapua which would indicate it’s way to slow for the 6.5*284 however I’m a advocate for the slowest powders I can get away with most of the time, usually end up with a full case of powder which I personally like. I shoot RL26 in my 6 creedmoor, wayyyyy to slow for that case but I’m getting stellar speeds and accuracy with it and so far no issues in cold weather. Back around 2010 I was competing with a 6.5*284 I used H4350 and Rl22 but my best load was H4831sc
If I were you I would at least try the lrt it might really surprise ya. Best of luck buddy

A lot of accomplished shooters tell me h4831sc is to slow for my Creedmoor, my rifle disagrees. Lol
I'm with you on using as slow as I can go for a given application, that's why it peeked my interest.

I have used, and do use, LRT in my .338 Lapua with 300 grain bullets (SMK and Bergers). My LRT was made by PB Clermont in Belgium.
In my rifles it is slower burning than RE33, so it's really at the slow end. The loads posted earlier look about in line with my experience. In my tests LRT does need a magnum primer whereas RE33 doesn't (if you are short of components). It may take a tighter neck tension to get ES down too.
Being a spherical powder, it really does meter pretty well for those days when you just don't have it in you to weight charges.
Can't say for sure with the 6.5-284, but I'm content with it in 338 Lapua.

I love when people tell me something will never work and I know damn well it is working now. Some people are convinced to just believe what they read and refuse to think outside the box. Experimentation can be done safely and sometimes you can stumble upon something that works incredibly well. Good luck. Be safe.

In 95 when started shooting the AR15 across the course, people thought I must be out of mind to use CCI450 magnum in a 223 case.
