Anyone shooting the Berger 130gr target VLDs in the 6.5??

Interested in knowing if anyone is shooting the 130gr Berger target bullets in their 6.5s?? If so how do you like them compared to the 140gr bullets?? Have a new 6.5 Creedmoor looking for some load data and info. Thanks!!!

130 Berger VLDs were my go to competition bullet in (3) 6.5 X 47s, I though it out shot all other bullets. It got me 150 -13 x on a F Class target.

Sorry, just starting load workup on my 6.5x55 for the 130, I found the 142s do well I'm 6.5cm.

Depends on what YOUR rifle likes. The old wives tale of that a VLD bullet HAS to be either jammed or on the lands is just that, an old wives tale. See our website on the main page under the INFORMATION tab and click on Tech Talk in the drop down bar. Got to Eric's article "VLD's making them shoot". We do recommend in a target rifle that you start into the lands and work back from there. If your rifle likes them jumped so many thousandths then so be it. The target is always the final arbiter. I love the 130 VLD in my 6.5x47 which is very close to the Creedmoor ,,I am using a bunch of H4350 ,my barrel doesnt shoot the 140 as well on the fast node,,so I shoot the 130s

I am .010 off the lands and using 43 grs h4350 getting 3020 fps from 28 inch 5r bartlien

I won our version of a state F class championship with a 6.5x47L and 130gr VLD's. Jumped them 40 thou and used 37.5gr 2208 (varget) with CCI450 primers.

6.5x47 - 26" barrel - Varget - 2875 fps

6.5x284 - 26 " barrel - H-4831-SC - 3150 fps

My 87gr 243's shot terrible up close to the lands. I'm loaded shorter than SAAMI at 2.710. its ONE HUNDRED THOUSANDS off the lands in my rifle. At 730yds I get 4" of verticle spread.

Haven't tried the VLD but have been shooting the 130gr Hybrids and really like them so far.
