Anyone shooting a 22/6.5x47 lapua

Quote from Darrel Jones article here:

Many will wildcat the 6.5x47, necking it down. But I like just the way it is. I think when you neck it down to .22 or 6mm, you may not gain much that is not already available with a 6BR Improved (Dasher or BRX). I've heard reports that a necked-down, 22-caliber version is blowing up Sierra 90-grainers in a 7-twist barrel. Darrell Jones

I'm sure someone will chim in with one, it was on my wildcat list but went .22-.204 Ruger intsead, just cause.

There have been several threads and Daily Bulletin articles on the .22X47 Lapua. Do a search.

I have a .22X47L Krieger 8-twist barrel on a Savage Target Action. Shoots very well with 55gr-80gr bullets. Case capacity is slightly larger than the .22/250 Rem and smaller than the .22/250 AI. Use .22/250 Rem load data to start.

Since Lapua .22/250 Rem brass is now available a .22/250 Rem or .22/250 AI is a better choice due to much more readily available and cheaper dies. No necking down cases before loading either. Vic

Trevor with Cloud Peak gunworks has build several of the 22x4L's. They have all shot terrific behind an 75-80 grain pill. Velocitys are runing upwards of 3400 with an 80 JLK VLD out of a 25.5" Barrel. I think his latest was a 20 inch barrel that he was running right at 3250 with it. Should have a pic or two of it on his site. www.cloudpeakgunworks.com

I know of several people using the 22x47 for LR Antelope and deer with the AMAX bullets. Also know of several people who are shooting the 20x47. Adam
