anyone shooting 30" barrel with 6 dasher

I have two Dasher barrels finished at 30” for F-open.
Have no experience with anything shorter, but both are tackhole accurate and tune at around 3030fps with Re15 and 105gr Hybrids. Can reach 3100fps before seeing pressure but accuracy is at that 3030fps velocity.

Probably the main/only advantage is I will be able to setback a couple of inches and keep on going with similar performance.

I have had 30" and 28" both shoot well I didn't get any more speed with the 30" over the 28" im shooting 28" it's easier to make weight that let's you put the weight where you want it

On my third Dasher barrel that is 30". Friend is building one right now that will go 32" finished. He likes speed around 3,100 whereas I stay under 3050 fps.

I shot a 27” BRX with 107’s for F Class for a long time. It shot 3030fps no problem

Many years back now, I switched from 28" barrels to 31" with my 6Dasher's. Basically it was a .4 to .5-tenths difference in powder charge to obtain the same velocities between the two different length barrels for me at the time. Brass life went up substantially, was the gain I liked the most and my primary goal and reason I made the change.

Another aspect; I was also playing/using 115-grain bullets and long throats (.175-FB) at the time, and they would get hard on brass when pushing them to the upper nodes with 28" barrels. The 31" barrels let me take them to 2975 to 3025-fps without loosening the primer pockets, like I had happening with the 28" barrels when I went much over 2950-fps.

While I do not feel I need the extra barrel length for the 103/105/107 class bullets to run the 3025 to 3075-fps nodes, I can do it with less powder, hence less pressure and easier on brass. Which is also my reason for never going back to shorter barrel lengths.

Each to our own though......

I can not get 3000 + with Varget some are able to ???
2780 to 2890 ???? My try R-15 or 4895 ?

Just took off a Pac-Nor 30" Dasher barrel. Replaced it with a 30" Brux, with a backup Brux all done and ready once the first one goes (probably 2 years) ;-) I shoot what I consider a moderate load with 108 Bergers, my MagnetoSpeed shows a average of 2965 with an SD of 5.

I don't mess with 108's but 105 class bullets shoot at 2970's from a 26" barrels from a Br imp...... jim
