My dad passed away 5 years ago and finally going through some of his extensive reloading items. This is one thing I just cannot figure out what it is. Any one know?

thanks.

Thank you all. I appreciate the help. Once I am complete on going through everything I will piece it all together to see what I am going to use and what I won’t be using and will get ahold of the individuals on here thag would maybe be interested. Thank you.

Had one of those heavy Ass presses back in the 80s. Definitely one of the heaviest duty presses ever made shy of the 50 BMG presses. I still prefer my Rock Chucker or Big Boss for everyday loading. The Big Max fetches BIG money as well today if you can find one.

It is the multiple shell adapter that goes in the Rcbs big max A4 reloading press
Sure is. If you kept it clean it worked quite nicely
Would not do 45-70 so it came with an adapter
RCBS discontinued them and replaced the ram to a normal at no charge. (Typical of RCBS)
That should have a blind hole in its side and came with a black knurled pin for removal. Of course the ram was threaded to accept that ‘fits’ all shell holder. Dirt was its problem and I never found switching shell holders to be a labor intensive task.
The press is fabulous (A4Big Max with a serial number)

This is the 4 pieces that make a complete set.
Threaded ram, universal case holder with pin stuck in, adapter for case holder (45-70 which the universal one would not take)
I was told the A4 had two style handles. I bought mine new and it has a shovel handle. Someone told me a straight handle existed, which could be.
