Sure doesn't sound like the Paul that I have dealt with. There must be some legitimate reason this has happened.

I had ordered an action wrench a while ago and started to send a few Emails when I felt it had been "longer than I thought it should take". I just got notification of shipping with a short message from Paul. I think he just has his hands full with orders and is spending his time making stuff rather than holding hands. I ran a building business for years and know that it's a hard line to walk. I'd just be patient. He makes really nice stuff.

He has a day job, some times long hours.
I am sure he is not trying to stiff you.
And as posted above "He makes really nice stuff."
Well worth the wait.

Paul is a great and honest guy. His Dad is a great guy also. He works a lot of extra hours with his regular job and is not always at home at night.

He is very hard to get ahold of. I was going to buy a action wrench from him but never could get sn answer so i bought somewhere else

Paul is a good guy & products are 1st rate. He is an ironworker by trade so I'm sure he is working lots of hours during the warm season. Hard to get it all done & get some family time & rest, too.

Two months is an awful long time to wait for an item that was paid for. Especially when a seller promises a date of shipment. I can't speak of your seller or his situation. I believe somewhere in the rules or site regulations, when a seller fails to ship an item within a reasonable time period( unless disclosure of shipping delay) or follows up with correspondence within a reasonable time with shipment info, they should ship first and receive payment after item arrives to buyer. Turn the tables on the individual that have inconvenienced his buyer or worse. If they don't agree, find another forum to post classifieds on. Again from my experience with a certain seller, this needs to be the case. Otherwise, he keeps getting down in honest buyers with no inconvenience to himself. This shouldn't offend anybody that's an honest person. Aren't we all suppose to be honest buyers and sellers. I just read a bunch of good reviews of this guy and many others that have left buyers wondering when they will get there items purchased. Just my opinion. Nobody likes being left in the dark after paying for an item. I'm sure there are good reasonable excuses for some of these delays where others, not so much. Again, I don't know this seller and this opinion does not pertain to him due to me not knowing THIS situation. It's an in general opinion based on MY isolated experience and incident.

I understand your point but these are custom manufactured items. It's a different ball game in my experience.

As others have said, I really doubt he'd stiff you or anyone else. I know that I have changed full time careers and have made a few mistakes like this one since. I simply wish everyone would contact me if there is ever a problem and let me correct it. I'm far from perfect and very, very busy..as well as still working out bugs to taking, fulfilling orders and staying on schedule. I'm pretty sure that Paul is dealing with the same type of thing.

For me, it boils down to time and dealing with the demand for my products, but also lack of being prepared for all of the scheduling issues...which is totally my fault. In my case, I became a REALTOR and just never know my schedule. That makes it hard to know when I can produce products and other gun related work.

I am in the process of building an inventory of my products so that my full time job doesn't affect my service as much..but it takes time and a considerable amount of money to do this with my products. I feel like it's a safe bet to say that Paul has much of the same trouble as do I.

Being in what sounds like the same boat, I ask that people be patient while I work out the bugs and to communicate with me....even if it takes a couple of tries. I mean well and will never intentionally beat anyone out of anything. I think Paul would say the same thing. Everything being custom and being a small market that doesn't, alone, stand to provide a good living, are all reasons why it can take a while for premium shooting related products. We all have to eat and just get by. Not to mention that, in my case, building up a second business while trying to maintain the first one, takes a huge amount of time and hours worked. Hang with Paul, as I'm very sure that he only wants to give you the product and not be bashed when he is doing all he possibly can.--Mike Ezell

Ya maybe but what's really the issue at hand is people not getting what they pay for and not receiving any contact after funds are sent. Kind of irrelavent whether the items are custom or otherwise. I do understand items that are being fabricated but this isn't the case normally.

I ordered a couple of items from Paul and they were shipped out in a reasonable time frame. Although I have a problem with one of the items and have sent Paul numerous emails over the last couple of months. Received a response last week saying he was very busy and will give me a call. Never did receive that call. I do not know Paul as some of the others posting here but in my opinion the "very busy" excuse is a cop out. For the most part we are all very busy in what we do. I own a construction company and on a daily basis have far too much to get done but always follow up with my customers if there is an issue. It's hard for me to believe that someone doesn't have ten minutes at some point within their day to answer an email or make that phone call. It's all about priorities.IMO

This is the end of me taking up for Paul, but in my own defense, like it or not, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that we're all busy...ther's always something that needs to be done, even if it's just 10 minutes. I will say that it's human nature to deal with what's in front of you at any given moment, when overwhelmed feeling. May I suggest that you call him instead of waiting for him to call you? It's not that you're wrong..just that some understanding and sympathy for the supplier, in the form of taking it upon yourself to call...again, is all it takes, could go a long way. I know that this is what I would want my buyers to do if there's an issue. There is a difference is custom made items, that are only a part time job for many, if not most suppliers in this industry. If you could buy it at Wal-Mart, maybe you should in some cases, but that isn't the case here, nor is the availability nor man-power. Just my .02 cents. In an ideal world, we could always go to the local family owned shop and walk out with whatever we want, but we are a small market and many part time people are who supplies our wants for this sport. Or...you can always invest in a lathe, mill, training, and all of the tooling to do it yourself. That often is the difference in whether or not a lead time and product price is acceptable or not.

Got my action wrench today from Paul. It was worth the wait. I should mention that I plan ahead on projects. I won't actually need this wrench for a couple months.

All of us are busy in life and put things off without realizing we are doing it. It's called forgetting. I'm really big in that department. Age helps but so does kids, grandkids, vacations and just responsibility. Paul isn't a problem here like some people who know what there intentions are. We all can deal with waiting for items being made or manufacturered by a Smith or machinist. He has a reputation of taking his time to do what he does and the finished product is proof of his good work. I do some taxidermy work and sometimes life just gets in the way. I'm providing a great service to friends that are always willing to wait when the deal is sweet. That makes it easier on me too. Most guys offering services here are cheaper than shops or other vendors. We can give it a little longer when we know the deal is sweeter.
