Anyone hunt on an e-bike?

Back in February me and my brother in law were skinning some javelina when i heard a noise. Looked around the corner and saw 2 hunters riding mountain bikes down the wash we were in. I had never seen this before around here.

I do a lot of hang n hunts on large tracts of land in the Midwest and will say that e-bikes are without a doubt a game changer.
A farm that would normally take me 45+ min to walk can be less than 5 min. The biggest benefits are eliminating your ground scent, sweat from exertion, don’t have to pack your clothes in, and can set up multiple stands mid day in a fraction of the time. Deer also don’t spook as bad when you run up on them.
I know a guy that owns an e-bike company in Ohio (Steve Pinkston 614-554-6799) that has several models to pick from. He is a hunter so designed these with that in mind. His prices are also more reasonable and you get more value, due to his lower overhead.
I bought the hec-2000 (2000 watt rear hub). he also has a dual 750watt (hub on front & back wheel) and 750watt that he designed specifically for western public land (rules require the use of anything 750watt or less). Here’s the link if interested.

out west where I hunt they are in the same class as a motorcycle. I run a small motorcycle and have a much larger range.

As someone who has been an avid mountain biker since the mid 90's, I'll never give up my pedal powered bikes. The e-bikes are a great option for hunting or other activities where you'll potentially be moving "cargo" and/or the activity's purpose is not just fun or exercise. With that said, I won't be buying an e-bike until the market is a bit more mature and prices come down a bit.

I agree with you I have been looking at them for several years and the reason for wanting an E bike is I have disabilities but I am still waiting for a price list to come down a bit more
