Anyone have experience with the Enco Model 110-2031 Lathe?

I would like to see if anyone here has any experience with the Enco Model 110-2031 lathes? I have heard that the Taiwan lathes are better than the chinese lathes but i would like feedback from those that have actually tested them. Any information you can provide on quality of the machine or any other details are greatly appreciated.

I've got a 12x36 # 510-2590 , mine is 4-5 yrs old . No problems used almost every day , I added a few pieces , collet chuck , diff chucks , made outboard and inboard spiders . It's my go to . I do have a Clausen , it's a quicker lathe due to the in out clutch but no more accurate . I may have gotten lucky but it's not in a shop , I'm the only one who touches it . Just make sure , if new , to take the cover off , add some magnets in the oil . But before that clean out the headstock and drain than add the fluid with the magnets , level the machine and check and recheck .

Can't speak on Enco lathes, but I've got an Enco mill that holds nice tolerances. Mine was built in Taiwan as well, virtual Bridgeport copy.

I had one. Great mechanically but the electrics was junk. Once all that finally went out and i wired in a vfd on an american motor and canned all the junk electricals it runs as good as any

Thank you for the information guys. Any idea of what a fair price would be on a machine like this? It has all the standard parts included: 2 chucks, steady rest, drill chuck for the tail stock and also some indexable tooling with carbide Inserts. Overall good condition for a 1987 piece of equipment.

Does it have a D1-3 or a 1-4 ? Thru diam is same for the machine . New they were aprx $1200 with stand 2 chucks steady rest follow rest tool post .

I have a 110-2079 and it has been fantastic since new {1998}...zero issues, does what I need and sees a lot of hours.
