Buy a cheap gun and there is no support. Wow, story of my life. Looking for knowledge and a recoil pad or buttplate. Looks like Thompson Center is out of existence per the email yesterday from the reply I received from the support address on their website.
I purchased a Compass rifle for my grandsons a few weeks ago, found a good deal on one and then found a youth model stock on ebay, woo hoo, short length of pull quickly solved. Youth model stock in hand and in great shape, complete with original longer spacer and recoil pad attached. Appears the spacer and recoil pad are one unit. I expect they made another prefit pad when you shorten the stock? That is my question. Checking Kick easy and Limbsaver website for prefit pads leads to no information. T/C email from yesterday basically says, we are out of business, no support and no parts and we know nothing.
I can make a pad for this stock, as it is several months until the fall hunting season and I have all summer to acclimate the boys to using a centerfire rifle. I am just wondering if T/C actually made the shorter pad for these rifles. Any help or knowledge is appreciated before I start making a buttplate for this youth stock.
