Anyone have any experience with Tikka rifles?

If the Tikka action still employs a bolt stop/magazine block to run SA cartridges, I'd grab one chambered in a long action cartridge...

well thanks for really rubbing in the nice wood pics. I have seen great wood on some of the T3's as well. some I have thought about buying just to get the stock because they were always in calibers I hated, just to put on another gun.

What were the T3 rifles called before they became T3's?

Also when were these rifles put in production, what year?

The early Tikka's were LSA 55/65...imported by Ithaca & built by Tikka...

Then Stoeger in NJ imported the newer 595/695 series..then the 3rd

generation T3 series imported by Beretta...all built in same factory as the

well known Sako series...using the same barrel as the 75/85 Sako..but only

a two lug boltface...instead on the Sako's 3 lug..The Finnish people know

how to build a fine & accurate rifle...Tikka in Finnish means 'Woodpecker'

Hits the same hole over & over again.....look close at the Tikka insignia...

Different parts of the world seem to get different varieties & calibers..

My light weight little 300wsm thinks it's a benchrest target rifle. They sure did something right.

Are all Tikka "actions" the same length or do they have long and short?

Were there any differences in the actions from the early 95's to the now T3 other than cosmetic? I can't seem to find the information.
