anyone have a good 77gr matchking load for an ar-15?

Thanks for the replys guys. My gun has a 24" stainless heavy on it.the guy at armalites tech dept tuned this gun for me as I was umhappy with the out of the box accuracy. I had loads with rl 15 and 75bthp cci br4s and fresh win brass that were consistent 1/4 inchers but I changed brass and primers and the load isn't the same. Also had a n540 load with 69smk that was a one holer and benchmark and a 52 bthp sierra also one hole. Truthfully the gun deserves a better scope than it wears. It will shoot better than I can if the load and really well prepped brass is used. it is one of those guns that you get lucky as a factory built tackdriver. I hope that I am lucky enough to get another great barrel when this one dies. As far as h 4895 and varget I will def give the a fair test. the 4895 actually printed just as good a group as the 2520 but opened up from one charge jump to the next. I felt it might have been less forgiving. I like to see a powder load combo that shoots well at two different charges. I feel it shows that it is a pretty sound load. Also the 2520 meters outstanding. Oh well more testing soon. I ll repost my findings. And am also interested in anyone elses load development. Thanks again !

I have a service rifle with a 1-8 twist barrel. I shoot 77gr SMK's with a max load of 24.1gr of RE-15 and it works well in MY rifle. Will it work well in yours you will have to test it to know. I have also used Varget with 24.0 gr and that worked best in my last barrel. Each barrel like its own combo of powder, primer and bullet. The hard part or fun part is finding out what works best in your rifle. I have heard from other shooters using 4895 with good results. I used Remington 7 1/2 primers for all my loads. Always start with lower loads and work them up. You may find that less gives you better results. That is often the case. ;)
