anyone have a good 6mm rem load 75-87 vmax in a older remington 700 varminter?

i am working with an older remington varminter bdl version. i would say its 8-10 yrs old . it has a factory 24in varmint barrel on it. i was looking to narrow the field a bit and ask. i have searched the threads and would like to hear if someone has a tackdriver load for this gun. i was thinking of working with rl 19 and or h4350 or rl 22 and or h4831. not really looking to deer hunt with these bullets. coyotes, ground hog and paper are my targets. any thoughts welcome..

H4350 is the classic 6mm Remington powder and works very well for me in that weight range. You might also try the 58 V-Max and 80 Berger MV, both shoot very well in my 6mms. I got best results with Varget and the 58 V-Max.

My new 6mm is throated for 115 bullets and it looks like 4831, RL22 or 7828 will work best.

Hodgdon lists 41.0 grs. as a starting point, I use 42.35 to make holes in paper with the 87gr V-MAX's with my .244 Rem./6mm Rem. in a 700 VS.

found a great load for the 75gr vamax yesterday with rl 17 . shot several at .300 or less. still working on the 87gr bullets. h4350 is my next move. thanks guys!

For what it worth the berger 80gr flat base varmint bullets showed me several 1/4 - 3/8 groups with rl 17. The best thing about this load was no brass prep at all. An expander mandrel through the necks and straight out of the bag win brass that will one hole. Man do I like the 6mm rem !

The Berger 80 FB MV apparently shoots well in just about any 6mm bore that can spin it enough. Berger says 12" or better. It has worked for me in 9, 10 and 12" twists. I should give it a try in my 8" 6BR.
