Anyone go to the Shippensburg or...St. Thomas in South Central PA. for the groundhog shoots ??? I have never been but want to. What are the benches like, covered, plywood or concrete ??
Thanx again,
Rmist

I go to St Thomas every Tuesday. Best day of the week. Covered benches but shoot uphill. Great guys and very informal.

You did not say where you are. You could consider Mifflin County Sportsmans in Lewistown. I don't remember how many benches, but they are under roof. They are working hard on the range to improve it and have had a very nice shoot in the past. Check out their web site.

You could also checkout South Fork Rifle club, home of the Western Pa. Groundhog Matches, located outside of Johnstown. Another nice match, and they did have great food at the matches. I haven't been out for some time due to cost of fuel from my home, 3 1/2 hours each way.

Good shooting.

I went yesterday to the St. Thomas groundhog match !! Took and extra 50 minutes to get there since the overpass on 81 is closed due to the huge tanker fire. Once I got there all of the folks there were extremely pleasant and informative. I didn't shoot very well but had a great time !! I would recommend this shoot to anyone in the area !! Very well run match. I live 15 miles north east of Hershey. It took me about 2 1/2 hrs to there and well worth the miserable drive in the rain !! I will go back...thanx again for the folks that helped me and welcomed a newcomer to there range !!
