Anyone ever used a Mueller Scope?

I'm in the market for a new scope for long range (minimum 24x). My budget is limited at $300 max, so options are few. After some research, I found a brand I know nothing about, and the reviews sound too good to be true. Mueller scopes are made in China (along with everything else these days), but it sounds like they have high quality glass and design, along with poor quality control. More than 80% of reviewers say it holds zero, has remarkable clarity, and has a lifetime warranty. The model I'm looking at is the Mueller Tactical 8-32x44. Customers who had issues and returned their scopes were sent brand new replacements, no questions asked. Typical foreign quality control. Anyone have any experience with this brand?

I bought one (I think it went up to 25x) several years ago. Didn't keep it very long. Always seemed like it was a little out of focus. But they may have improved things over the years.

my opinion... they are pretty good for the money. i have a few and the only one i am not happy with (clarity issue) i got for 'cheap' off ebay. now i know why it was put up for sale. mine are 6.5 x 24 with AO. I use them pdogging and adjusting the objective gets rather tiresome. Also, the mag ring never really loosened up to where i can adjust without holding down the rifle with the other hand.

the xhairs are a little heavy for fine tgt work. you might take a look at Hawke vantage scopes, they are in same price range.

Look for someone selling a used straight 36x sII sightron. That should make your budget, and are very nice scopes for the money. Unless you NEED to be able to dial the magnification back.

Also look for a Weaver t36. Great scopes! I own 5 of them. They pop up from time to time for $300, used. If you take good care of it, you can easily sell it for the same $300 in a year or even two.

I have a mueller on an a17 savage. Im pretty sure that heavy recoil makes it shift a bit each shot but i just use it for shooting junk off fence posts and a coyote or 2. Its a 2x7 and works fine for this app. It holds minute of crow and i can see the crow but thats about it. If you want a real scope thatll work look for the 36x sightron or t36 weaver like they said above. You wont find much bad about those 2 models like the mueller.

I can't give an experience on the 8-32 but I currently use their new 40X fixed and it holds zero and I am using it for 50/100 yd. RF-BR shooting so I am cranking on the turrets quite often.

The optics are good for the price but the "click adjusts" are soft/mushy. Useful for fixed distance centerfire or rimfire.

I just received mine a day ago. Looks good the little I played with it and the clicks were crisp. I have another model 1" tube Mueller tactical that they are a little mushy. I don't have the riffle yet it going on for mounting but for $200 with sun shade and flip up caps kind of hard to beat the value if everything looks OK and functions good with it. Also; its 1/8 clicks MOA if that's what your looking for.

I have a 4-14 Mueller on a 17 WSM walking varmint rig where I don't twist turrets. The other day I placed an optical resolution chart 100 yards away and carefully compared a variety of different scopes at like powers. The Mueller at 14 power had marginally better resolution than my Sightron 8-32 at 14 power. Now it is possible the powers of the two scopes were not REALLY both at 14 power but for a $130 scope that Mueller is impressive indeed. As far as resolution goes it outperformed a new Redfield Tac, Bausch and Lomb Elite 3000, Sightron S-Tac and a Weaver Classic. The only scope I had on hand that beat the Mueller was a Nightforce. Again these scopes were compared at like power levels (according to the markings on the zoom rings) so the comparison was not exactly scientific.

I have used the Muller 8-32 from 100 yds out to 300 yards. I like the Variable Power when the Mirage is bad. I used it on a Savage 204 Ruger. It worked very well @ 300 yards. We were having informal egg Shooting Matches Shot @ 200 & 300 Yards. I like the 1/8 minute clicks. They are friction clicks with a detent type spring to give you a feel for the adjustments.

I currently own a Mueller 8-32 and a Mueller 4.5 - 14, Both are 30 mm tubes. I like the Optics in both of them. With the 14 power scope I can see 22 Rimfire bullet holes @ 100 yards. I have moved up to a Higher Quality scope for shooting 300 yards and out - a Sightron SIII and yes it cost well over twice as much.

With that being said I feel it is a very good Scope for the Money. The Lifetime warranty is to the Original Purchaser with receipt. I don't think you can do better in a Variable for the price.

In Fixed Scopes the weaver T36 is a Very Good Scope- Used price $300.00 and weaver has been standing behind their warranty to Secondary Owners. @ the $300.00 price you should be able to get one with the Scope lens Caps, Sunshade & Target Turrets. the Weaver T36 also has 1/8" adjustments.

Good Luck. I think both Scopes are good. If you can get by with a Fixed Power scope the T36 is Very Good, If you shoot 200 & 300 yards you may want a Variable vs a Fixed Power.

Edit- Oh Both scopes have fine X-Hairs with Small Dots available. I would suggest you look thru them so you know how fine the x-hairs are. some shooters don't like the x-hairs that fine.

.... snip................ Anyone have any experience with this brand?

Yeah, I own several of them. They are not my best scopes but they're my best scopes for the money by far. I don't use them in F-Class competition anymore, but I used to in the past and I've won several local matches with them.

If I have to send one of my much more expensive scopes in for repair, I would not hesitate to mount one of my Mueller scopes and shoot a match.

you can get a new Sightron 36bRD for 363.00 SHIPPED from ecop... ebay Just bought one and they have 60moa if your a LONG LONG BOOMER

Mounted and shoot through mine. Plenty of power and I didn't think the cross hairs were too thick, but they were thicker than my target dot. For the price I don't think I went wrong.

I've got a 6x24 on a Savage 204 & 223, xhairs are a bit heavy but the center aiming section are ok for PD's, the turrets are a bit mushy but I prefer to holdover rather than dial, so... Glass is good for the $, can see holes in paper targets at 200 w/o much effort for 63 y/o eyes.

I have four of the 8-32, one being a tactical" with BDC type recticle. I'm with the majority. This is a scope well worth the 235.00 I paid for it. I also have T36 and Sightron SIII so I have used scopes to compare it to. I'm currently using more Vortex scopes but they are twice the price, but not twice as good.

I have three 8-32 mueller scopes mounted on low recoiling varmint rifles. I think they are an excellent scope for the money.

for PD's, the turrets are a bit mushy but I prefer to holdover rather than dial
yup, same here. tried both techniques in the field... using the mildots is much faster for me and i don't have to move from the eyepiece. i like using mine on 20x giving me in essence '1/2 mil-dots'

weaver has been standing behind their warranty to Secondary Owners
i am just now in process of sending in a weaver (NOT T36) for warranty repair because of a rotated reticle. Vista outdoors CS gave me a RGA number and said 'don't worry about the original receipt or $15 s&h charge. I was almost shocked...
