Anyone ever use Krylon Fusion paint on fiberglass stocks.

jonbearman

I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
The title says it all. I just want to paint my stock and be able to remove the paint fairly easy. Next year it will be painted at a shop but running out of money on this project. It is a harris stock out of the early 80"s and it was completely stripped and I had to rework the bottom to make it as flat as possible.

I used the Krylon camo with Fusion technology for my Savage. it's held up very well through hunting and competition

Jon,
My son has used it all over his jeeps plastic parts and he beats the hell out of it thru mud/rocks, including the interior parts....it holds up really well if thats any help

I have had a good experience with Krylon spray paint. I’ve used it on two plastic gun stocks. I roughed them up with 60 grit sand paper prior to painting. Then applied a base coat of Krylon and then Brownells Aluma-Hyde on top of that. It has proven to be durable after several years of use. The paint has worn off the butt pad but other than a few scratches the remainder of the surface is still in very good shape.

Talk to the automotive paint folks. The folks that I asked recommended a self etching primer first. I used NAPA 7220 with success. I used it under Fusion and pickup truck bed liner. A Q&D trick is to use bow paint if you want it to come off at a later date.
