Title says it all.It was being used around the time ppc brass was being made out of 7.62-39mm and sako .220 brass was used.Just curious if you have or might have heard of it. It stands for fargnoli-coye-cartridge.It was based off the 30 Remington case.

Yes John.
ask Jason The 6mm FCC stands for the Farnolli Coye cartridge. A little thing Jasons grad dad and Tom Farnolli came up with.
Both tried it Tom did ok but not sure about how Wendell Coye did Cases were on the 30 American brass if I remember correctly.

Jason gave me the barrel and some ammo but no dies to tinker with it.

Yes it was based on the 30 30 basic case with the small primers.
another idea with similar results as to the 6BR head spaced on the rim if I remember correctly.
I had one put together , it didn't work out for me. I had wendell shoot it also.
It just wouldn't go.

Get with Mike Turner over on Benchrest.com. He wins a lot with a 30-30 and knows how to make it shoot.

GSPV
just for WIW were are talking 6mm cases. It was a major forming and fire forming type of case.

I should look in my junk box to see if I have any left. maybe. I never know what's in that brass box.

The cases I have are marked 30 remington and you can use 30-30 if you rip the rims off. That should clear that up.

Since the 30 Remington had the identical, or almost, case dimensions as the 3-30 except for being rimless, it should work fine. the supposed advantage for the Federal was the small primer pocket. The 30 Aardvark was an exceptionally accurate cartridge using the Federal "American" brass. Most people turned the rims off to PPC or 308 head size, so as not to have to deal with the rim.

Sorry. I looked at the 30 American and got distracted. The rim was where I was going. Mike has some innovations that deal with head spacing on the rim.

I understand that the 6.8 SPC is based on the 30 Remington. Maybe that is a starting point for dies.
