Anyone else get screwed by RCBS on their rebate promotion???

I bought an RCBS Chargemaster from Midway and submitted my paper work and ALL info needed to get the rebate on time, even had printed out the form saying it was accepted. I heard nothing from them and then I called and they denied it. I asked why and she told me no reason listed. Anyone else get that treatment from them? I have been happy with them in the past but now....?

I, too, bought a CM 1500 , but from Midsouth Shooter supply. Filled out the paperwork, ect. But, I finally got my rebate in the form of a prepaid debit card. Have yet to use it, hope it actually works!!! Sorry that yours didn't work!!!!!!!!

This is the 2nd post re. RCBS and their customer service this weekend. I can’t speak for them and certainly can’t explain why you got such a raw deal. I can assure you the several times I’ve had to deal with them, they treated me right.

I don’t share this to goad you, rather I suggest you try to call them Monday and ask to speak to a call supervisor and explain your situation. You have every reasonable claim to your rebate. Once you explain ypur situation, my guess is that they will do whatever necessary to make it right.

Good luck with it!

Gerald

I agree with you. I have had nothing but great things to say about RCBS so I was shocked that they handled it that way. I have emailed "Dora" a supervisor but have yet to hear back from them.

My experience with rebates (not RCBS) has been like yours. Fill out the paperwork, send it in then nothing. They are betting on you forgetting about it. Marketing shill.

Ive stopped buying RCBS due to the exact situation you have had on rebates.

I've gotten multiple rebates no problem from Bushnell, Speer and CCI all owned by the same parent company. But RCBS screws me everytime

I jumped through a bunch of hoops when I bought a SIG last year. Filled out all the paperwork with sales tickets etc. They sent me confirmation emails, which I kept. They gave me a date I should receive my items, it came and went. Contacted them and they told me I should have it by July, nothing. Contacted them again and they said they had no record of me.

I forwarded them all of the emails. I was told they would take care of it. Now almost a year and nothing.

I look at these mail in promos about like I do guarantees and warranties, pretty much not worth the paper the are written on, most of the time.

It wasn’t anything I can’t live with out. It just made a good to fair deal a little better.

I guess I must live a charmed life. Never had a problem with any manufacturer rebate other than sometimes it took so long I actually forgot about the rebate and was surprised when I picked up the mail. Got a couple from RCBS and I have several hundred Hornady Interlocks in my bullet drawer that they send out as rebates.

And then there's Browning.
Several years ago I bought a T-Bolt during a rebate period. I submitted my rebate information and received the check within a week. I bank online so went through the steps of depositing via photo and then forgot it. A month or so later I received a letter from Browning that noted I had not cashed the check and wanted to know if there had been problems. I checked and sure enough, the amount had not been recorded by my bank and they had no record of it. I replied to Browning and had a new check within a week. This one actually got to the bank! Now, I should have been on top of it myself, but the honesty of Browning's rebate department deserves a high rating.

I purchased a crap ton of bullets from Xtreme when they was offering that huge rebate program where you get free brass. I stocked up on bullets for several years just to get all that free brass and NOTHING! Never heard a word from them but everything submitted was accepted. I no longer buy their stuff period! Also dont recommend their stuff when people ask.

I've received other Vista Outdoor brand rebates such as Speer and Federal in the past without problems. I still need to submit my RCBS rebate request. I plan on doing it online. Saturday 10/31 is the deadline for submissions. I only bought enough to barely qualify for the first level, $50. I won't bank on receiving it based on posts in this thread but I'll update with info for my case when it becomes available, no matter the outcome.

i got mine for 50 from this last rebate offer period. It came on a debit card with no markings at all what it was for. i used it right away after i figured it out and it worked. I havent turned in many shooting related rebates in my life, less than 10 im sure, but ive been lucky and got them all. That said i dont think ill be turning in another.

I got final approval from Vista Outdoors for my $50 RCBS rebate by email today so unless my prepaid card never arrives I'm chalking up my experience as positive.

I got mine. I had to resubmit some pictures of receipts because they got blurry from me downsizing the file, but once I sent them full size, I got approval. I also received my credit card but have not used it yet. I have never had a problem with RCBS.

I got my prepaid card a few weeks ago, but have not tried it.
RCBS has been very helpful to me.
Be careful, many times those prepaid cards have a sunset date and will become worthless. I had to call and get mine reactivated after forgetting about it in my wallet, later tried to use it in store and got refused.

I used to buy into the rebate stuff, never had one come through yet. Now won't buy anything if a rebate is part of the sale.

The firearms company I worked for did many, many (maybe too many) rebate offers. NONE of them were actually administered by us. All were handled by a clearing house hired to perform the task. They are not perfect and neither are those folks who send in the forms. You got an acknowledgement the form had been received if I had to guess. It would not have been a guarantee that all was in order and you had met the qualifications. Much less that your check was on the way.
That said, the CS rep at RCBS should have at least offered to get to the bottom of exactly why your rebate request was not honored. I feel sure that someone from RCBS will be able to clean this up.
