Anyone built a 22 BR AI?

I have two standard .22 BRs made with a custom reamer for the 80gr SMK or 80 Nosler CC which are cheaper. I have to uniform the tips of both bullets with a Moulder tool to get any kind of happiness. I have an 8 twist Bartlein on one and a Brux on the other rifle. I am currently playing with Reloader 16 with those rifles. I found the 77gr "Tipped MKs" melted their tips and the accuracy was poor beyond 300 yards. I never did get the Hornady 80gr bullets to perform at any range comparably to the Sierras or Nosler CCs. I am also trying the 70 RDF bullets but I cannot seat them to the lands. I shoot at 550 yards because that is the limit of my range. I like to see the bullets hit clay pigeons on the bank at that distance. I have tried more power with these bullets, I built a .22-6.5X47 Lapua small rifle primer (40 gr of powder instead of 30 gr of Reloader 17 with the standard .22 BR). The bullets will get there quicker but I loose the chance to see the clay pigeons break. The barrel wore out quickly with 40 gr. All of the above barrels were nitrocarburized and I shoot only HBN coated bullets.

Thanks for reply. I also decidedto go with a straight 22BR. I was keen to build a 22 Dasher, but my "smith" made one for himself and it was a barrel burner so he has also reverted to a plain 22BR FOR 80 GRAINERS. A chambered barrel costs over $1000 here in Australia, so barre life is a big factor to consider

Sorry for the tangent, I'm curious about how you determined the tips were melting and also a round count on your barrel?
I have a 22-250AI with a nitrided barrel and also a fast 6.5 I was going to launch some 107 tipped match Kings out of.
