Anybody Using the Lee case length gauge and Trimmer for 6BR

I have used the lee case trimming setup with the case length gauges for many years in many calibers. Anybody use it for the Lapua 6BR Norma brass. My lee case length gauge just arrived and is labeled 6BR Remington.
Questions:
1. Can I use this with the Lapua 6BR Norma?
2. Will I accidently ream out my flash hole?
3. Anybody using the Lee trimmers on 6BR?

thanks rc

My twice fired Lapua 6BR Norma is only 1.557. Guess I don't need to worry about it right now. My question is also about the flash hole pilot on the gauge. Is it going to work in the lapua sized flash holes or should I "sand it down" some. rc

I just started playing with a 6mm br. I turned the Lee trimmer flash hole pin down a little because it was tight in my Lapua brass. It seems to work fine now. I chucked the pilot in a drill and used a mill file, with very light pressure, on the pin.

I contacted Lee and they said they no longer make the length gauge for the 6BR. I have made one by modifying a 243 WSSM. However, have not used it because my brass started at 1.555, and is growing perhaps 0.0005" per firing. Plan to trim the gauge to 1.560 once I get some cases long enough to work with. Yes, I had to grind down the pin to fit the primer hole in the 6BR, as well as move the shoulder back, and shorten the overall length. If you go this way you need to buy another gauge intended for a .473" head, as the WSSM holder is larger and won't work.

Midway is still selling these. I don't know if its legal to post links, but, my intention is good.

Cort: Did you just trial and error it till the pin passed easily? I think this is what I will try. Thanks rc

I got one, I have used lee trimmers for years in various cartridges with good luck. I got mine from midway and the flashole pin was tapered, it would go about halfway through the flash hole before it got tight. I chucked it up in a drill press and used a real fine metal file and turned it down. Followed that with some 80 grit emery cloth and it looks good as new, plus it works.
