Was this with a 105 class bullet, or a lighter weight?29.5 will be about max. Around 2880.
Was this with a 105 class bullet, or a lighter weight?
Thanks
Comparable to Varget and H4895?I shot some last spring. Started at around 27 and quit when I got to 28 because it was shooting well all with 105bt Berger and br4.
Comparable to Varget and H4895?
Was for me anyway. Groups that is.Comparable to Varget and H4895?
I used it in BRA so I won't share any load data but it worked quite well.Just found an 8lb jug of it and was wondering if anybody had good luck with it in their 6BR. Please share your load info! Thanks-
Ar comp is almost bang on h4895 burn speed. Perhaps a bit different density though.Comparable to Varget and H4895?
Group was under .020" and you were not impressed?Well I finally tried it out Wed. and not overly impressed but will continue to test.
I found that 27gr grouped the best but I will need to tweak seating depth again ( 2 in one hole and third a hair out). Group was under 0.02 with just a slight bit of horizontal, also this is a new ABC barrel so it may need a few more rounds through it.
As it stands right now it is on par with the IMR 4895 load I was using. Hopefully I can get it better. I also did not put out the flags and admittedly got caught in a few condition changes.( dumb ass mistake)
Out of curiosity, why do you feel score shooting only requires .3 accuracy?
I try to set up my tune for score shooting just like I would if I was group shooting.
Small is needed for both disciplines but in my 30 br that I only shoot on score matches I want it to shot round always.Old Navy a little disclaimer here; I shot 6 groups 2 of them were discarded as soon as they were shot, 1 was thrown out when target got pulled. Of the next 3 two had shots at least a full bullet diameter out 1 up 1 down, conditions ?? and then this 1, 2 in a hole and one a hair out to the left, wind? me? and this is why I will retest all 3 loads again and then again to verify.
Here in central Ct. weather conditions are changing rapidly so all of this may be for naught, and will have to start over in the spring.
I don't shoot group I shoot score so anything that stays right at 0.3 or smaller I am satisfied with. For me this may have been a fluke but if it repeats I'll take it. If things don't get better component wise I may run out of bullets before all is said and done.
As of right now the only thing I'm sure of is this ABC barrel WANTS to shoot the rest is up to me.
