Anybody tried Ramshot Tac for replacement for H4895

I know it's not what you're asking but I bought ramshot LRT to replace h1000 in my 300 ultra mag. It works as good as the h1000.

Tac is a good powder, capable of good velocity and accuracy. I don't think its a direct substitute for any stick powder. I don't use h4895 but at 300 yds it will hang with re-15, n140, etc. You can get a lot in cases like 223 and drive it hard. Depending on your accuracy requirements, it is a good choice for a lot of things.

In .223 only, for ARs and one bolt-action...I've consistently seen slightly better accuracy with H4895, but if all I had or could get was TAC, I'd certainly use it without hesitation.

I have used it for 223 with 77's and 80's and it worked fine. I prefer the H4895 or Varget now but would go back to TAC if I needed to as it does the job and meters like a champ!

When the son-in-laws started shooting and both picked up AR's, TAC and Hornady 55 FMJBT's saved my wallet. Great combo to 300yds! Still use 4895 for the really precise stuff, though.

I haven’t substituted it for H4895 because I have a lot of 4895 but I have used it in several rifles and it performed fine. .222 .223 .223ai 22-250 and pretty sure I used it in a 6brx I had competed with but barrel wasn’t competitive anymore so I used it to kill groundhogs with lighter bullets and tac
Good luck
