I've been using H4895 for my 105gr Bergers and 107gr SMK bullets at medium to longer range distances (600 yards.) After using TAC very successfully, both in terms of velocity as well as accuracy in my 1-7 Savage .223, I decided to try it in the 6BR. Since Ramshot doesn't list the 6BR in its load data I contacted them by email and they gave me some start/max load recipes.
Their recommended "max" was 27.5gr of TAC for a velocity range of 2800-2900fps. I worked up a series of loads using Lapua brass, CCI450 primers and 107 SMKs, and took them to the range today.
The accuracy at 27.7gr was outstanding, .241 group at 100 yards, but the 5 shot average for velocity was 2641. Granted, I coat my bullets with WS2, and it was unusually "brisk" this morning for October in Louisiana: 55 degrees....brrrrr.
There were no signs of pressure, so I plan to work up a bit higher to check it out....
Just curious if anyone else has used TAC with the 6BR and heavier bullets.....I'd be interested in your feedback.
Thanks,
George
