Anybody loading 6mmBRX

Got it figured out now, have almost 200 cases done. I'm at a point now where I just make up about 10 at a time now and just take them to warm the barrel. Working on real loads now and going to the 300 line tomorrow for the first time with it. Current loads I'm going to try are 34.2gr or RL-16 and 32.0gr of Varget both with 107 SMK's.

Well it turns out this is another rifle that don't like Varget, or at least my Varget. Getting way better accuracy with H4895 and IMR4166. The H4895 is running a little slow (BR speeds) but I cant argue with the results, the 4166 has a great node at 3030fps. Going to play with primers and seating depth and see if I can close up the groups more.

I'm having good success with 2209/H4350 in my 6BRX. 1st time trying it too.
35.1gr with 105gr hybrids 3000fps and 35.4gr with 107gr Smk 2980fps ..

How does the H4350 fill your case? I was trying Reloader 16 and was getting powder crunching well before the speed I was going after. I managed to 34.2 grains in there but the speed was only 2910. I was told 34.4 is the magic number but not sure how it's gonna fit?? My throat is a little short so my bullets are deeper than most but I should get a really lengthy barrel life.

RL16 needs a drop tube. I use a 7" and can fit over 36gr. Depending on the bullet a BRX will generally need 33.7 to 35.7.

Yeah about 35.4gr is crunching a bit . I'm running 120 FB .. the the hybrids like 003 jump so make seating easy with not much crunch but would like more FB so I'm not seating past the neck/shoulder junction .. at 020 jump it was a bit had to get a consistent seating depth. The 107gr smk are longer so 35.2gr at 020 jump is hard to get consistent seating but 35.4gr is where it likes .. speeds have been great .. the 103gr I tried have no problem at all and 35.2gr gave me over 3000fps and no crunch at all but just weren't as accurate as hybrids and smk.
Oh and I'm not using a drop tube but will be getting one to see if it makes a difference

I almost forgot a good friend charges all his cases and touches the tray with a vibrating tooth brush. He says it works even better than a drop tube and only takes about 5 seconds. I haven't tried it yet..

A friend made me a tool to settle powder by vibration. It worked, but no better or worse than a drop tube and a slow dumping of the powder. Proved once again, there is only so much room in the case. It was no faster either, but if you could vibrate the whole loading block at once you might be on to something, especially with a light weight plastic loading block.

He does the whole block at once. He says 5-10 seconds and they’re all done at once.

It only takes a split second, the electric tooth brush works great!!

I just purchased a used rifle from a member here chambered in 6mmBRX waiting till payment clears and he can ship it my way. In the mean time I have been collecting stuff for it, like dies which I just bought another 6mmBR set and just raise the resize die up .100. I found 240 pieces of 4 times fired Lapua 6mmBR brass from a member in our club for $75 bucks. So I'm excited waiting for it to arrive at my FFL....

Whidden has a great 6BRX size die

I built mine for varmints, 10 twist cause I got it real cheap. 55g noslers at 4100 shoot tiny bug holes, 65g V max at a comfortable 3750, and are grouping in the mid 2's, not bad for a crappy bullet. 70g TNT's are doing 3650 with amazing accuracy. I am using AA2230 with all the bullets above with 7 1/2 primers. 87g V max with H4895 are very, very impressive, but I have the need for speed.

Groups at 300 yards with the 55g noslers have been fantastic to say the least. Ballistics are better than my 22/250 AI with the 55g Nosler ballistic tip with about 12g less powder!

I fireformed my cases with bullseye and House of Autry Corn meal from once fired Gold Box 6 BR brass.
