Anybody have any objections to a 4 groove .284 barrel?

I've heard it said that a 3 or 5 groove groove barrel might be preferable to a 4 groove barrel. Supposedly, the positioning of the none opposing grooves of a 3 and 5 groove barrel may eliminate stresses on the bullet that the evenly positioned 4 grooves may ordinarilly produce.

After learning that Brux Barrels only produces 4 groove barrels, I'm kind of highly doubting that there is any validity to this.....considering the stellar reputation and winning record of Brux barrels in general.

Before I order the 4 groove .284 Brux barrel, anybody have an opinion on this?

My four groove Krieger and Brux barrels shoot very well. So do my five groove Bartleins. The difference between odd and even groove barrels is speculatively theoretical.

I'm inclined to think you're right, and that speculatively theoretical is something to do with guys that have a lot of time to overthink stuff. ;D

I have 3, 4, and 5 groove barrels and find no difference in the accuracy. My 4 groove Kreiger's are probably the easiest cleaning barrels I have ever shot. I credit that to the internal finish and not the grooves - but no proof to prove my opinion.

If your new .284 Brux 4 groove shoots as good as mine does you'll be happier than your probably allowed to be...
