any waterfowl hunters on here?

I know this is a "rifle site" but i have to have something to do on the off season. Our early goose season is right around the corner. I am in need of a new shotgun. Any one have any experiance with the rem 887?

FOR GET IT , IT WILL NEVER OUT DO THE OLD TRUSTY 870. I DUCK HUNT MYSELF I'M TRYING A NEW WIN. SUPERX PUMP.

I did it for one season, could not find any one who wanted to go sit in the wonderful September/October/November/December Alaskan weather. Misery loves company, so I stopped. I used a benelli nova. That thing would eject shells that were welded to the chamber from rust. Hold the pump and slam the butt on the ground 5 or 6 times, and out the shell would pop. And I ain't exaggerating. I tried using my side by side a couple time before I got the nova. I got tired of a bruised knee trying to "break open" the action. Its amazing how fast rust will form up here. Good luck.

I used to use the 870 but then went to a semi and it was good but i wasted too many shells plus the gun didn't fit me well. So now im going back to a 870 or 887. The 887 fits me a little better but i know how the 870 works.

Heck yeah I waterfowl, but no experience with the 887. Closest was an 11-87 that I only use for Turkeys now. I spend all winter steelheading and waterfowling. As far as my duck gun, I prefer either a Browning Auto-5 (best semi-auto ever made IMO, but it sucks that I can't shoot steel through it) and a Browning Citori O/U. I'm a much better shot with the O/U, although it's not traditionally a "waterfowl" gun. Just fits me better and I don't worry about wasting that third shot on a duck that's already gotten away.

All the Gunshop Guru's around here push the Benelli Super Black Eagle however I bought my Son a Super X2 and he loves it. I run a Remington SP10 but, if I were to buy, it would be a Super X3 after shooting his! I shoot Geese but really prefer Duck Hunting. A group of us travel to the Hackberry Flats in OK annually, if water tables allow, during their Pintail season and always watch for Sand Hill Cranes, a.k.a. "The Ribeye of the Sky"!

Ive owned Benelli SBE 2, Mossberg 835, Rem 11-87,870 and 1100 and Win. SuperX2. All have been 3.5" guns except the 1100. My pick is still the Win. SuperX2. For.some reason it just fits me ....and i seem to always hit better with it than any of the others.

I don't have any experience with the 887 but hear it's a good shotgun. 870 is still the one for me! and I have a sbe 2 that has been reliable. I love to waterfowl hunt but seems to be getting tougher as I get older...LOL. My best friend Boomer (my Chocolate Lab) had to be put down end of last hunting season and I thought I was tuff but cried like a baby when I lost him! I truly loved him! I will hunt this year but it won't be the same without my companion. They say the 887 is very reliable and tuff as nails...I wouldn't mind having one for sure. If you get one let us know how you like it. :)

shot a lot of ducks with rem 1100..tied a benelli sbe and never looked back. have the original sbe with the stainless recoil setup and magazine spring.been trouble free

Me and my Buddies love to hunt Waterfowl here in Penna,i live 500 YDS away from the Susquehanna River, i really like my Stoeger 2000 auto, you can,t beat them for the price of $500.00, Stoeger uses a Benelli action.
